When we were recently approached to provide Final Cut Pro training for the Venetian Macau Limited Visual Department,
we were really excited. Even though we had visited the Venetian in Las
Vegas many times during NAB, it never ceases to amaze us with its the
sheer glamour and vibe.
It was very important for us to take
steps to understand their training needs. Like some of our previous
clients in postproduction and broadcasting, we all suffered from start
up pains. So much to do, so little time to learn.
After an initial visit to their site in Macau, we began to customize FATBARS’ Final Cut Pro training for them. Their training was done in FATBARS
because we have an edit suite with broadcast grade equipment that they
can access anytime during their training. At this moment, their main
production is to create video media for multiple purposes.

presentations, to the video presentations catered for outside media and
marketing purposes.Because they have a host of different formats of
videotapes like Betacam, HDV, SD and other media sources, the need to
understand how each format works together was important. Together with
the footage that they are currently shooting, their production
libraries are bound to grow in folds. There was also concern on setting
up a system that could expand and adapt as their ever-growing workflow.
Beside tape output, Venetian Macau Limited Visual Department ‘s
production will also repurpose their work into other media formats like
DVD and for their website. Incorporating some DVD Studio Pro training,
to handle issues like subtitling was essential. From ingesting video
footages into Final Cut Pro, to finishing the project with DVD Studio
Pro.
