Today, most of the Hong Kong
schools have their own Multimedia Lab, providing their students, the
abilities to access the latest computers and software for their
everyday schoolwork.
More than ever, today’s teachers need to
be able to use that same technology to deliver their curriculum. But
when teachers from the English School Foundation came for their workshop in Fatbars, they were all from different schools, but belonging to a single foundation.
The English Schools Foundation (ESF) makes
a vital contribution to Hong Kong by providing high quality and
cost-effective education through the medium of English. With twenty
schools across Hong Kong – five secondary, ten primary, one ‘all
through’ school, three kindergartens and a school for children with
special educational needs. Today, they have 12,000 students include
over 50 different nationalities.

| What was different from Fatbars’ other introduction workshops, was for the first time, a introduction workshop was customized to go through some of the key software offered within Final Cut Studio.
The
objective was to give the teachers hands on experiences, by going
through the creative workflow of editing (FCP), creating titles
(Livetype), making graphics (Motion), making music, inserting sound
effects (Soundtrack Pro) and finishing in DVD Studio Pro.
In depth training for each of the software is best achieved by going through the full Apple Certified Pro Apps Course which Fatbars provides as well. But this Fast Start Final Cut Studio workshop gives an insight to the abilities of the range of software within one single studio package.
At
Fatbars, the teachers enjoyed being back in class. As they walked out,
being teachers once more, we hope that this training opened new doors
to each of their schools.
